Client: East Thames Group Ltd

Project: 5 - 25 Payne Road, London, E3
Construction of a landmark building with 158 residential units and 2,700m2 of commercial space, within a tight brownfield site.

Services Provided: Employer’s Agent, Quantity Surveying and Planning Supervisor.

Cost: £23 million

Challenges: To deliver the scheme within a tight Client budget, taking on board the site’s abnormalities, e.g. a burial ground and trunk sewers, whilst still maintaining the identity and quality of the scheme.

Solutions: Design and build procurement through a partnering framework, with a novated Client design team used to maintain the levels of identity and quality required. Early involvement of the Main Contractor in the scheme development and value engineering workshops ensured that the Client achieved the best value for their money.
